It’s important for us to obtain as much food as possible from local suppliers.
Take for example our meat: "Ennstaler Bergscheck" (Ennstal Mountain Pied cattle) – an almost extinct cattle breed. It was bred over centuries in our region because the Alps offer perfect conditions for this special type of cattle. The meat is well marbled and stands out for its excellent quality. The farm in Ramsau/Dachstein, where we purchase the "Bergscheck" meat from, is taking part in a pilot scheme where the main focus lies on regional breeding and the protection of “Bergscheck”.
We use fresh herbs that we grow in our garden, cheese from local farmers and eggs from our own hens.
Freshly baked bread, marmalade, chutney and pickled vegetables are just some of our homemade delicacies.
